Security & antivirus
Antivirus, software updates, device protection and whether multi-factor authentication is switched on where it really counts.
Most IT problems do not announce themselves in advance. We give your whole setup a friendly once-over, then tell you in plain English what is healthy, what needs a look and what could catch you out. No jargon, no obligation.
What is an IT MOT?
A friendly once-over of your whole IT setup that tells you, in plain English, what is in good shape and what might quietly let you down.
If you run a business without your own IT person, your technology probably just ticks along in the background with nobody really keeping an eye on it. It works, mostly, right up until the day it does not.
Most IT trouble builds up quietly. Out-of-date software, weak passwords, backups that were never tested and old user accounts that should have been closed years ago. You rarely see any of it coming.
An IT MOT puts that right. In about 45 minutes, remote or on-site, we go through the parts of your IT that matter most and give you an honest picture of where you stand today, with no obligation to do anything about it.
What we check
We score each area with a simple traffic light. Green for healthy, amber for worth a look, and red for anything that is a genuine risk. You get the results in plain English, not a 40-page audit that leaves you more confused than when you started.
Antivirus, software updates, device protection and whether multi-factor authentication is switched on where it really counts.
Whether your important data is genuinely backed up, and whether those backups have ever been tested by actually restoring them.
How your email, OneDrive and SharePoint are set up, who can see what, and whether anything has been left wide open.
Your router, firewall and Wi-Fi. Is it fast and reliable, and is it set up in a way that keeps your business safe?
What machines you are running, how old they are, and whether there is a sensible plan for replacing them before they fail.
User accounts, admin rights and what happens when someone joins or leaves. Forgotten logins are a favourite way in for attackers.
Is it for you?
If any of these sound familiar, it is a good place to start.
You rely on your tech every day, but there is nobody whose actual job is to look after it.
You are taking on people and want to be sure your systems can keep pace without falling over.
A virus, a near miss or some lost work, and you want reassurance it will not happen again.
You already have an IT provider but are not certain you are getting what you pay for.
